During his career Hollis emphasized estate planning and probate, along with some business and real estate.

Education
Hollis graduated from Seattle University with a B.A. in Business Administration in 1962. He entered the Army in 1962 and was assigned to the Army Security Agency. He spent one year at the U.S. Army Language School studying Russian. The remaining two years, he was SOD attached to the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. Hollis attended Gonzaga Law School, was a member of the Gonzaga Law Review for two years, and graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1969. Hollis was a Law Clerk for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office for two years prior to graduation from Gonzaga and a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Pierce County for two years after graduation until Hollis joined the law firm in 1972.

Professional Memberships
Hollis was a member of the Washington State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Oregon State Bar, Pierce County Bar and achieved an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbel, the highest attorney rating available. Past memberships include the American Trial Lawyers, Washington State Trial Lawyers, listed in “Who’s Who in American Law,” Member Washington State Municipal Attorney’s Association, Arbitrator/American Arbitration Association, Mediator/Settlement Now mediation program.

Personal
Hollis is married to Patricia Barnett who was an attorney with the firm and is now retired. Hollis was a partner in the law firm since 1972, but now is working part time and is “of Counsel” with the firm. They have three children and have resided in the Puyallup area since 1971. Hollis grew up in the Mount Rainier Park area, was a former seasonal ranger and part-time guide at Mount Rainier National Park. Hollis continues to enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing and was a professional ski instructor for many years. He also enjoys snowmobiling, hiking, river rafting, and fly fishing.
