John focuses on personal injury and wrongful death. Before joining Campbell Barnett PLLC, John worked with Lane Powell PC in Seattle, WA. While there, John focused on personal injury defense. John’s experience as a personal injury defense attorney has given him a unique perspective to plaintiff-side personal injury work. John understands the defense perspective and knows how to position a case to achieve an advantageous settlement or successful trial.

Education
John received his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law, where he was a member of the Texas International Law Journal and the Texas Young Lawyers Interscholastic Mock Trial Team. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College in 2007, where he graduated magna cum laude with a double major in Economics and Ancient Studies. He is licensed to practice in the State of Washington, and the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts.

Professional Memberships/Civic Activities
John is a member of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice. John is also a former board member and Vice President of the Puyallup Main Street Association.

Personal
John Forsythe is a third-generation attorney who resides in Lakewood with his wife and two children. Originally from Billings, Montana, John relocated to the Pacific Northwest after receiving his law degree. John’s hobbies and interests include dog training, competitive powerlifting, and historic stone lifting. In June of 2019 he became the 118th person to lift the Dinnie Stones in Potarch, Scotland.
