HILLARY A. HOLMES

Areas of Practice
Hillary’s practice focuses on all phases of litigation for family law including divorces, custody disputes, paternity determinations, child support modifications, contempt of court and adoptions. She also practices in estate planning assisting clients with their Last Will and Testaments as well as trusts.

Education
Hillary graduated cum laude from the University of Washington in 1993 receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree and earning admission to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society. She also received her Juris Doctor degree with honors in 1996 from the University of Washington School of Law graduating in the top ten percent of her law school. While in law school, Hillary was the Chief Justice of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.

Professional Memberships and Other Affiliations
Hillary is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association. She is an active member of the local family law section. She has served one term as the Vice President and two terms as Secretary/Treasurer on the Executive Board of the Family Law Section of the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association. Hillary has a prior appointment to the Rules and Procedures Committee for the Washington State Bar Association which oversaw a redrafting of the Civil Court Rules for the State of Washington. Since 2008 Hillary has served as a Pro Tempore Court Commissioner on the bench of the Pierce County Superior Court hearing cases concerning family law matters, probates, collections, and domestic violence. She is also admitted to practice in federal court before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and in tribal court.

Personal
Hillary was raised in the Puyallup area. Both her immediate and extended family continue to live in Puyallup. Upon graduation from law school, she was delighted to return to the Puyallup Valley where she practiced law at another law firm for almost four years prior to moving her legal practice to Campbell Barnett PLLC in 2001.
